Position Overview
Engineer I is an entry-level mechanical engineering role ideal for new graduates or early-career engineers with SolidWorks experience. You will support mechanical design, drafting, assembly, and troubleshooting across a variety of automated systems. This role blends CAD work with hands-on mechanical assembly and real-world engineering problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Produce 2D drawings, update revisions, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Generate and maintain bills of materials (BOMs).
- Apply basic tolerancing to ensure proper fit and function.
- Assist with prototype builds and system assembly.
- Help diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during assembly.
- Operate the 3D printer.
- Learn and follow company engineering standards and manufacturing practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- SolidWorks experience (school projects, internships, or personal design work acceptable).
- Understanding of basic mechanical principles, tolerances, and manufacturing concepts.
- Ability to work hands-on with tools and mechanical assemblies.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to GD&T.
- Experience with prototyping, machining, or fabrication.
- Participation in engineering clubs or competitions (SAE, robotics, senior design, etc.).
