Position Overview
Engineer II is a mid-level mechanical engineering role for individuals with several years of professional experience. You will independently design components and subsystems, perform engineering analyses, and lead portions of system assembly and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently create complex parts, assemblies, and detailed drawings in SolidWorks.
- Apply proper tolerancing and GD&T for manufacturability and reliability.
- Develop components and subsystems from concept through release.
- Generate BOMs and manage drawing revisions with minimal oversight.
- Plan and execute mechanical testing and validation.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and integration.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Operate the 3D printer for prototyping and design verification.
- Suggest design improvements to enhance performance, cost, or manufacturability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3–6 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
- Strong SolidWorks proficiency (assemblies, configurations, GD&T, detailed drawings).
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on assembly.
- Understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation, mechanisms, or motion systems.
- Familiarity with FEA interpretation or tolerance stack-ups.
- Experience working with suppliers or contract manufacturers.
